KNU's forest policy

The forest policy has goals including local livelihood security, human security, biological and cultural diversity, ecosystem services, sustainable development, people’s participation, public awareness and capacity building. Strategies and tactics for the Forest policy include the creation of community forests, reforestation, afforestation, forest fire control, awareness raising, training and workshops, capacity building, demarcation of reserved forest and wildlife sanctuaries, forest and biodiversity research, increasing skills and human resources, decentralisation and devolution, setting up a regulated forest extraction agency and enforcing rules.
