Support capacity building program
Capacity building activities serve to strengthen, support and connect all of KESAN’s programs. Capacity building activities include project management, participatory methodologies including Participatory Rural Appraisal Tools, forest management, disaster preparedness, media and journalism.
KESAN also conduct trainings on GPS operation and wildlife research methodology for staff, community project partners (CPPs) and strategic project partners (SPPs). We also provide technical assistance to communities in surveying techniques, forest demarcation and wildlife research.
By continually building on the skills and expertise of staff, local communities and community-based organizations, the effectiveness of all programs is enhanced. The knowledge gained from capacity building activities is shared and communicated well beyond the initial pool of individuals.
The skills acquired from these capacity building initiatives equip and enable individuals to work with their communities in identifying their needs and helping them to develop and manage their own community-driven projects. These programs can also help to increase communities’ capacities to reduce their vulnerabilities from the accelerating effects of climate change, natural and human-caused disasters.
